What We Inspect
At Bryant Home Inspections, we are privileged as home inspectors to say that we give you the information you need about the function and safety of your home. With every home inspection we use a outside to inside and top to bottom approach to systematically comb over every part of the home. We are looking for major and minor defects that have or will cause damage to a home (function) or potential injury to its occupants (safety). Keeping your family safe is our top priority.
An example of a functional defect would be an initial finding of a missing or damaged roof shingle. Its function is to shed water off the roof and keep it from entering the home. Once inside the home we then may find evidence of a leaking roof in the attic space.
An example of a common safety defect found on inspection is an improperly secured deck that is at risk of pulling away from a home and/or collapsing. The Consumer Product Safety Commission did a study from 2003-2007 and found in that five-year period, there were 20,200 injuries due to structural collapse or failure of a deck, porch, railing or stairs.

What is radon?
A colorless, odorless, tasteless gas that is radioactive and can be very harmful to your health. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer after smoking. Having your home tested for radon is the ONLY way to determine whether you and your family are at risk of high radon exposure.
This radioactive gas forms naturally when radioactive metals break down in the soil and ground water. This process is natural and means that people are always potentially exposed however highers levels of radon exposure matter greatly. Gaps in a homes foundation or open crawl spaces can allow radon gas to leach up in to a home and is then inhaled by the homes occupants. Radon gas products get trapped in the lungs causing cancer over many years. Being a smoker intensifies these risks.
Let us give you peace of mind and guidance to protect your family from radon gas exposure!
